ValetBridge Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how ekSource Technologies, Inc. uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the ValetBridge public website (valetbridge.io), hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. It is incorporated by reference into the ValetBridge Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Introduction
This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) explains how ekSource Technologies, Inc. (“ekSource,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the developer and operator of the ValetBridge platform, uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the ValetBridge public website, located at www.valetbridge.io (“Website”), which is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
ValetBridge is a proprietary B2B SaaS middleware integration platform and a product of ekSource Technologies, Inc., headquartered at 13873 Park Center Rd, STE 55E, Herndon, Virginia, 20171 United States of America. This Policy is incorporated by reference into and should be read together with the ValetBridge Privacy Policy v1.0 and Terms of Use v1.1, both available at www.valetbridge.io.
This Policy is designed to be transparent and accurate. We describe only the cookies and technologies that are actually present on the Website as of the Effective Date. When we add new tools, analytics platforms, or third-party services that introduce additional cookies, we will update this Policy before or at the time those technologies are deployed.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide website operators with information about how their site is being used. Cookies are not programs and cannot execute code. They cannot carry viruses, install malware, or access other files on your device.
In addition to traditional cookies, websites may use similar tracking technologies:
Cookie Categories
Industry-standard cookie classification frameworks organize cookies into four categories. ValetBridge currently uses cookies in only two of these categories:
Cookies Currently Used on the ValetBridge Website
The following tables set out all cookies currently in use on the ValetBridge Website as of the Effective Date. This list is accurate and complete to the best of our knowledge. We conduct periodic cookie audits to ensure this table remains current.
| Cookie Name | Category | Purpose | Duration | Set By |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| vb_session | Strictly Necessary | Maintains the visitor's session state across pages. Required for Contact and Demo Request form submission to function correctly and to prevent duplicate or incomplete form submissions. | Session only Deleted on browser close | ekSource Technologies, Inc. (valetbridge.io) |
| vb_csrf | Strictly Necessary | Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) protection token. Validates that form submissions on the Contact Form and Demo Request Form originate from the ValetBridge Website — not from a malicious third-party source. Security-essential cookie. | Session only Deleted on browser close | ekSource Technologies, Inc. (valetbridge.io) |
| vb_consent | Strictly Necessary | Records the visitor's cookie consent preferences (accepted / declined categories) so that the consent notice is not displayed on every page visit. Without this cookie, the consent notice would reappear on every page load. | 12 months From date of consent | ekSource Technologies, Inc. (valetbridge.io) |
| Cookie Name | Category | Purpose | Duration | Set By |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| vb_formstate | Functional | Temporarily stores form field data entered in the Contact Form or Demo Request Form within the current browser session. Prevents data loss if the page is accidentally refreshed before the form is submitted. Data stored by this cookie is not transmitted to ekSource until the form is submitted. | Session only Deleted on browser close | ekSource Technologies, Inc. (valetbridge.io) |
| vb_lang | Functional | Records the visitor's language or regional preference if language selection is made available on the Website in the future. Currently set as a placeholder with default value (en-US). No personal data is stored. | 30 days | ekSource Technologies, Inc. (valetbridge.io) |
| Cookie Name | Category | Purpose | Duration | Set By |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies are currently deployed on the ValetBridge Website. This table will be updated with specific cookie details before any such technologies are introduced. | ||||
AWS Infrastructure and Server-Side Data
The ValetBridge Website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, including Amazon S3 for static content delivery and Amazon CloudFront as a content delivery network (CDN). It is important to understand the distinction between cookies and server-side data collection.
- AWS S3 and CloudFront do not independently set cookies on visitor devices. Any cookies present on the Website are set by ValetBridge application code — not by AWS infrastructure itself.
- AWS server logs automatically record technical information about each request: IP address, request timestamp, HTTP method, URL path, HTTP response code, and bytes transferred. This is a server-side process distinct from cookie-based tracking and is governed by the ValetBridge Privacy Policy.
- Amazon CloudFront may set its own cookies solely for the purpose of routing requests to the appropriate CDN edge location and for certain CloudFront security features. Any such CloudFront-set cookies are strictly technical, contain no PII, and are subject to Amazon Web Services' own privacy practices at aws.amazon.com/privacy.
Future Cookie Use — Planned Technologies
ekSource intends to add web analytics capabilities to the ValetBridge Website in the future, most likely Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or a privacy-respecting alternative. Before adding any analytics or other non-essential cookies or tracking technologies, ekSource will:
- Update this Cookie Policy to accurately describe each new cookie, its purpose, its duration, and who sets it — before or at the time the technology is deployed
- Implement a compliant cookie consent banner presenting visitors with a clear choice to accept or decline non-essential cookie categories, with opt-out honored before any non-essential cookies are set
- Ensure any analytics provider selected processes visitor data in accordance with applicable privacy laws (VCDPA, CCPA, PIPEDA)
- For Google Analytics 4 specifically: configure IP anonymization, disable advertising features, enable data retention controls, and execute a Google Ads Data Processing Terms agreement where required
- Provide Canadian visitors with PIPEDA-compliant notice and, where required under Quebec Law 25, obtain express opt-in consent before deploying analytics cookies
Cookie Consent and Legal Basis
7.1 Applicable Legal Frameworks
7.2 Strictly Necessary Cookies — No Consent Required
Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent under applicable U.S. and Canadian privacy law because they are essential to delivering the Website functionality you have requested. These cookies cannot be disabled without impairing Website functionality, including the ability to submit the Contact Form and Demo Request Form.
7.3 Functional Cookies — Consent by Default, Opt-Out Available
Functional cookies are enabled by default because they enhance the Website experience and do not collect information used for tracking, advertising, or profiling. You may disable functional cookies through your browser settings (see Section 8 below) without losing access to core Website functionality, though some convenience features may be affected.
7.4 Cookie Consent Banner
As of the Effective Date of this Policy, the ValetBridge Website uses only strictly necessary and functional cookies, and a full cookie consent banner with accept/reject controls is not legally required for these categories under applicable U.S. and Canadian law. A cookie notice is displayed at the bottom of the Website on first visit to inform visitors of this Policy. When analytics or other non-essential cookies are introduced, a full consent banner with category-level controls will be implemented before those cookies are deployed.
How to Control and Manage Cookies
All modern web browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies will impair the functionality of the ValetBridge Website, including the ability to submit the Contact Form and Demo Request Form.
8.1 Browser Settings — Cookie Management Instructions
8.2 Browser Storage (Session & Local Storage)
In addition to cookies, the Website may use browser session storage or local storage for functional purposes such as temporarily retaining form field data. You can clear session storage and local storage through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. Clearing these will not affect core Website functionality.
8.3 Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal to websites. As of the Effective Date, there is no universally agreed standard for how websites must respond to DNT signals, and ekSource does not currently alter its cookie practices in response to DNT signals. When analytics tools are added, ekSource will review DNT signal handling in light of applicable law and industry standards.
8.4 Opt-Out from Future Analytics
When Google Analytics 4 or any other analytics tool is added to the Website, ekSource will provide a mechanism to opt out of analytics tracking, including a link to the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) where applicable.
Cookies and the ValetBridge Administrative Portal
The cookie practices described in this Policy apply to the ValetBridge public website (valetbridge.io). The ValetBridge administrative portal, accessible only to registered Operators and their Authorized Users following authentication, may use additional cookies and browser storage mechanisms to support portal functionality, including:
- Authentication session cookies — maintain the Authorized User's logged-in state during an active portal session and are deleted when the user logs out or the session expires
- Security cookies — including CSRF protection tokens and session binding tokens, strictly necessary for the security of the authenticated portal environment
- Preference cookies — may retain portal UI preferences selected by the Authorized User, such as column display settings or dashboard layout choices
Updates to This Cookie Policy
ekSource reviews and updates this Cookie Policy under the following circumstances:
- Whenever a new cookie, tracking technology, or analytics tool is introduced on the Website — updated before or at the time of introduction
- Whenever an existing cookie is modified, renamed, or removed
- At minimum annually, as part of ekSource's regular privacy program review cycle
- Whenever required by changes in applicable law or regulatory guidance
The “Last Reviewed” date at the top of this Policy reflects the most recent review. Material changes — including the introduction of analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies — will be communicated via a prominent notice on the Website prior to the change taking effect.
